Empowerment over power and enablement over force. Teams that I lead must be positioned to tell me what is best for our customer experience. I can't lead effective teams with out autonomy and accountability as it is key that I am directing strategy as they invest into it.

How?
Vision casting
Establishing core units of business and impact against KPIs to help institute team OKRs. Setting a based level vision helps individual contributors understand the company goal and strategy better to best influence through the work they do. Creating this with senior leadership and maintaining is a key driver to strong partnership and an effective UX organization.
What?
Goal setting
UX has to be the voice of the customer, associate or end user all together. The human sentiment is best served when met at the entry point of contact. Setting metrics behind the vision and pushing strong goal planning sessions that key in on closing gaps to success.
Who?
One on ones
Both with direct and indirect reports I always look to drive meet my team to understand their challenges and wins. I always want to exercise availability and support as needed for my team so that they are best suited to succeed.
Why?
Celebration
Celebrate good times come on! The small wins are never small and the big wins are never about me. Lifting up and building future leaders will always be centered on the idea that celebrating them in them moment is so important that success and failure are bred from it.
These are not limited to but included in how I lead. I base these three categories as pillars of focus.
PEOPLE FIRST
Environments are always made up of people first so that is the way I lead. Understanding where people have needs and meeting them there is essential. I drive a heavy culture promoting self awareness opening engagement towards goals and career growth within the individual contributor. I meet weekly with 1:1 conversations, supporting read outs and facilitating as needed.
TRUST
In connection to the people I manage, I also focus on strategy and relationships being built. I look at trust as a key ingredient to success and allowing professionals to be professional. I look to gain insight and understanding behind business decisions, company strategy and direction. I will always seek direct feedback on the job that I am doing while balancing between vision setting and business acumen.
RADICAL CANDOR
Part of leading is having the honest and candid conversation. Whether with a business partner or with my direct or indirect reports I practice what I know as fair feedback of constructive growth. Radical candor is a great read and a great direction to head into especially while leading larger teams into the future. It is imperative as a leader that I am held accountable and that I respect my team to do the same for them.
